You may have read our recent blog about Vincent Street being split into 3 different shires with the new council amalgamations, well things have certainly progressed since that article.

Seems that most of the current City of Vincent is against the split which will see north of Vincent Street go to Stirling which will of course divide North Perth, Mt Hawthorn and Leederville, ripping right through the heart of Leederville.

Whilst we jumped on the bandwagon to support leaving our little urban village in Beaufort Street as a whole we are now supporting our neighbours in the other urban villages to protest and keep City of Vincent together. We also believe our neighbours north of Walcott Street aren’t too happy either about leaving Stirling and going to the new amalgamated Bayswater/Bassendean Shires.
City of Vincent has launched a facefook campaign Vincent to Perth – One in All in and a rally to be held on Saturday 10th August at 2pm in Angove Street.

Plans for the Beaufort Street Festival 2013 are well under way and we all aim to make this year one to remember. Watch out in our September Beaufort Blurb Newsletter for news about local specials and discounts for Beaufort Realty subscribers.

“Pieces of Perth” – more news about this next month but remember the phrase.

It would be remiss of us not to mention the fantastic work done by The Beaufort Street Network, it is made up purely of volunteers who live and work locally and only have the best interest of the local community at heart. For $15 residents and $95 per business you can become a member and have your voice heard. Let us know and we will email you a form. There are so many exciting things on the drawing board.
